NSW Outback Accommodation
Want to have a true Australian experience with a weekend or holiday to the NSW Outback?
If so, your Outback New South Wales holiday and overnight accommodation can be booked right here, right now…with just a few mouse clicks!
If we were to never venture away from our capital cities and coastal towns, we’d never experience the true Australian outback spirit.
For that, we need to venture west…a long way west. And what better place to go for this uniquely Australian, outback experience than the New South Wales Outback.
It is here where we come face to face with those big, wide open spaces and the vast, arid land. It is here where we meet the people who really are the lifeblood and backbone of this great country.
It is here where we can really have more than just a weekend or holiday away. It’s a place where we can have a true Australian outback experience.
Ancient, spectacular landscapes and the people who work the land for the good of Australia…this is what we find when we visit the New South Wales Outback!
And quite frankly, we don’t understand the heart of Australia until we experience the outback.
After all, Outback New South Wales covers two-thirds of the state’s land! The majority of NSW is actually outback.
And it is here in the outback where struggling farmers, miners and labourers have turned to tourism to make a living. What does that mean for tourists? It means a fantastic adventure – a real outback experience!
It’s the opportunity to live as the outback people live and experience the Australian country first hand.
Here’s what we recommend you do during your Outback NSW visit!
First and foremost, get out there to the NSW outback pubs and hotels and say hello to a local. You can do the same when you check out the little country stores that line the main street.
A weekend or holiday to the New South Wales Outback will probably involve visiting Broken Hill – the main centre of Outback New South Wales. Here you can expect to see emus, wedge-tailed eagles, bearded dragons, shingleback lizards and red kangaroos.
Another place you may stop in is Wentworth. Wentworth is the ideal base for a day trip to world famous Mungo National Park – an absolute must-see when you travel to Outback NSW.
Burke is the other big name town you’ve no doubt heard about in the New South Wales Outback. There is so much to see and do here. You can go walking through the town and observe the beautiful colonial building. You can even take a paddle boat trip on the Darling River or perhaps a drive out to Mount Gundabooks National Park where you’ll see real Aboriginal rock art.
Here are some other things you should consider for your Outback NSW ‘to-do’ list:
· Visit the Royal Flying Doctor base at Broken Hill
· Check out Mungo National Park’s Walls of China formation
· Discover Aboriginal art at Mutawintji National Park
· Check out the pub at Silverton
· Visit Brewarina – for thousands of years it was an Aboriginal meeting place where tens of thousands would gather along the Barwon-Darling River
Of course, there is so much more you can do during your Outback NSW stay, so be sure to grab a visitor guide once you come into the region.
