Newcastle - NSW

Newcastle is located at the mouth of the Hunter River. Newcastle reaches out to the sea, creating Australia’s only city centre bounded by pristine beaches and an active working harbour.  Newcastle today is a modern thriving centre and is Australia's sixth most populated city.  Newcastle is the second largest city in NSW and the main artery to the wine-growing district of the Hunter Valley and the beautiful beaches of Port Stephens. Newcastle has many attractions even when you can’t visit the major beaches.   Newcastle is the gateway to the Hunter Valley and is now a very different place to the time when steel and coal industries were the major source of employment.  Newcastle is 2 hours drive, 170kms north of Sydney and is accessible from the following major Highways: F3, Pacific Highway, New England Highway and the Golden Highway.
This relaxed town is a great place for a reasonably priced summer holiday. This is one of the more popular spots for visitors, there is a great range of accommodation with all tourist facilities. Five star motels, apartments and Bed and breakfasts, caravan parks and resorts are all available in the region.
