Pelican Sands is nestled in the heart of the magnificent north east coast of Tasmania right on the beachfront at the mouth of the Scamander River. Located on the southern tip of the Bay of Fires with the beauty of Binnalong Bay and just north of Bicheno & Swansea, the area abounds in natural delights and some truly breathtaking scenery. Miles of pristine white sandy beaches with clean, clear turquoise waters are yours to enjoy. You can stroll along the beach, have a picnic, surf the waves or swim in the lagoon at the front of the property. Or if you are more energetic you can take one of the kayaks and paddle the reaches of the Scamander River and enjoy the bushland scenery. For those who enjoy fishing, the Scamander River has a reputation for excellent bream fishing with salmon and flathead aplenty off the beach. Day trips which are an easy drive will take you through some lovely countryside, visit Pyengana Cheese Factory, taste some award winning cheeses, visit waterfalls and National Parks. Our units are tastefully refurbished ?boutique? style waterfront queen studios and family apartments. All are fully self contained with high quality finishes and inclusions for a relaxing and indulgent holiday experience. The grounds are spacious and landscaped with direct beach access. The swimming pool is heated, there is a children?s playground, BBQ?s, complimentary guests laundry and complimentary use of kayaks & fishing rods. We have an excellent wine list as we are licensed for guests.

Pelican Sands is on just over 2 acres on the northern side of the Scamander Bridge right on the waterfront. Access to the property is from Scamander Ave which is the main road through the township of Scamander. We are approx 15 minutes south of St Helens and approx 1-1/2 hrs from Launceston.

Local Attractions:
Scamander has one of the most beautiful beaches in Tasmania, right on the dorstep of Pelican Sands. the surfing is excellent. For the fishing enthusiasts, the Scamander River is famous for bream, or there is surf fishing off the beach. There are many local walks along the nature reserves in the dune area at the back fo the beach. We have a 9 hole golf course within a few minutes drive. National Parks, Waterfalls, day trip and the Beautiful Bay of Fires is only 15 minutes away.

Drive along the Tasman Highway into Scamander and Pelican Sands is located just on the northern side of the Scamander Bridge on Scamander Ave.
