Camellia Cottage (c1880) is a cosy, comfortable farm cottage, set in glorious gardens and with stunning rural and river views. With easy access to all Huon Trail attractions, the Cottage is located at the end of a road, one kilometre from the highway, ensuring privacy and peace. Friendly farm animals, acres of garden to wander in, generous breakfast provisions including home made breads, jams and cookies, and eggs from our free range chooks. The Cottage is exclusively yours and has a queen sized bed and a single bed. BBQ facilities and a microwave mean you can cater for yourselves or enjoy one of the local restaurants in the area. The open fire makes winter visits a pleasure, and in spring, summer and autumn the garden is a delight.

Location:

One kilometre off the main highway (A6). 15 minutes south of Huonville, via Franklin, and about 8 minutes north of the Timber Town of Geeveston. Crowthers Road and Camellia Cottage are signposted on the main highway.

Owners live on the property and are available at all times.

Things to do:

Guests are welcome to wander through the gardens, maybe feed old Mr Goat, or enjoy watching the activities of the orchards in the area. Sit in the sun and drink in the tranquillity or watch the sheep and lambs in the paddocks. This is a hobby farm property, with chooks, sheep, goat, cows and resident dog, cat and Zac the cockatoo.

Local Attractions:

The famous Hastings Caves, the Tahune Airwalk, the Jet Boats, wineries, restaurants, eco cruises (Bruny Island), bushwalks in the Hartz Mountains, stunning scenery and beaches. Arts and crafts, and peace and quiet.

Getting There:

Take the A6 from Hobart, through Huonville and Franklin. Castle Forbes Bay approximately 15 minutes south of Huonville, and before Port Huon and Geeveston.
