This landmark historic house circa 1865 is set on park-like 2 acres and surrounded by beautiful cottage gardens which reflect the changing seasons. The decor and furnishings in three accommodation rooms and guest lounge are reminiscent of times gone by. The house is conveniently located to all the tourist attractions on the Central and North West Coast of Tasmania. Cradle Mountain is just 85 km and is always a popular drive for tourists. West bound you can take a day trip to Stanley and along the way visit Creative Paper, the Cheese Factory and Whisky distillery at Burnie. As you continue along the coastline towards Stanley Fossil Bluff, Table Cape and Boat Harbour are worth a visit. From Westella House you can also experience the diversity of Tasmania's Coast to Canyon Region. Drive inland from Ulverstone and view the mountains, wildlife, waterfalls, vineyards, caves and fertile farmland and Leven Canyon. Within this region keen fishermen can experience many of the popular local fishing spots. Garden lovers can be captivated by six picturesque gardens. Each reflect the uniquenes of each season and different garden styles from large country gardens, formal gardens, water features, a Zen garden and many more. Antique enthusiasts have the opportunity to browse in several antique shops in Ulverstone and Latrobe. Base yourself at Westella House and explore the region for a few days.

Go penguin watching along the coastline on dusk.

Take a leisurely tourist drive into the mountain area or along the picturesque coast. Try catching some Tassie fish. Visit The Axeman's Hall of Fame at Latrobe. Taste the locally made chocolate or locallly produced fruit, cherries, apples and strawberries. Sample the local wines. Take a cruise up the Mersey River. Enjoy the local gardens
Getting There:
Exit signs are located on the highway as you travel west of Devonport towards Burnie. Exit left then right onto Westella Drive. Westella House is located ahead on the left hand side. East bound from Burnie heading towards Devonport take the left hand exit at the exit sign then turn right and then left into Westella Drive. Westella House is located ahead on the right hand side.
