Within easy distance from the major ferry arrival point at Penneshaw, Seafarers is a stylish home offering a unique opportunity to stay at what might be described as the best address in town. FROM 1st APRIL, 2008 to 31st MARCH 2009. $145 for 2 plus $15 in "OFF PEAK SEASON" $170 for 2 plus $20 per person in"PEAK SEASON" Peak season includes all SA School Holidays, Long Weekends and Easter. 3 night minimum at all times. Seafarers House features a large enclosed verandah for relaxing, with an expansive open plan dining/lounge/kitchen. Seafarers has a range of quality furnishings and fittings, including Spa Bath, Dishwasher, TV with Video & DVD player and Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning in the main part of the house. The safe swimming beach is just a 2 minute walk away and often tammar wallabies can be seen in the garden and the 'little penguins' are nesting close by. Restaurants, cafes, takeaways, supermarket and souvenir shops and art galleries are located in the town just a 10 minute walk away. Seafarers House has a 4 Star AAA Tourism Rating. Ideal for honeymoons, getaways for two, taking your parents on a well deserved Kangaroo Island holiday or as a family escape where the children can enjoy the Island's beaches, wildlife and freedom from city living. This three bedroom holiday home is on the top floor with storage below. There are no internal stairs - the house being on one level and accessed by the main door up the driveway alongside the carport. Seafarers House facilities include: Large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen. Colour TV, Video and DVD player (bring along your favourites - or you can hire from nearby Grimshaws Store in Penneshaw). Comfortable lounge and dining seating. Fully equipped kitchen, including large fridge/freezer, all crockery, cutlery, dishwasher, microwave, electric stove & hot plates. Enclosed verandah for watching the ferries come and go, and in the distance seeing the ocean going cargo freighters which ply across Backstairs Passage - fully enclosed and safe for children. Locatated at the 'gateway' to Kangaroo Island, in the township of Penenshaw, the house is a 2-3 minute drive from the ferry wharf, yet set high on the hill in a quiet, secluded area with a reserve in the front over which guests have an unsurpassed view of the mainland, and the main shipping lane, and ferry wharf. The Hog Bay beach, ideal for swimming and relaxing, is just a 2-3 minute walk away, with shops and restaurants close by. We can arrange your passenger and car ferry transport ex Cape Jervis to Penneshaw/return on the Sealink ferry. They have a range of travel time options, bookins are necessary. Cape Jervis is 110 kms south of Adelaide, and Penneshaw is 16 nautical miles from Cape Jervis.

Seafarers House has 3 bedrooms 2 with Queen Size beds 1 with 2 x King single beds All beds have quality sheets, pillows and pillow cases with continental quilts. Extra blankets can be found in the cupboards in the bedrooms. The house is equipped for SIX persons MAXIMUM. Children are welcome. COTS & HIGH CHAIRS - please bring your own portable cot, linen for the cot. TOWELS & BATH MATS as well as toilet paper PROVIDED Please take your own toiletries, including soap, tooth paste, shampoo etc.

Booking Conditions & Cancellation Policy Please take a moment to read our Booking Conditions and Cancellation Policy. Once a booking is confirmed with your payment, an information leaflet and map on how to get to Seafarers House will be forwarded. Check in time on arrival is after 2 PM, with check out on the last day by 10 AM. Seafarers House is owned and operated by PENNESHAW RETREATS (owned by John and Anne Hamlyn) and you are asked to read the following conditions of hire and cancellation policy. You, the hirer, must keep the property clean and in good order and will be responsible for any damages during the rental of the property. Your reservation permits the number of persons listed on your booking form (and no-one else) to occupy the property, for holiday purposes only. You, the hirer, agree you will not take pets onto the property. Cancellation Policy Note: this is the accommodation CancellationPolicy for the owners of Seafarers. Should SelectaStay also charge a cancellation fee, this will be in addition to the policy conditions outlined below. Accommodation Cancellation Policy A cancellation received at any time after the payment has been received - the cancellation fee is the full value of the first night's accommodation. a) Less than 7 days prior to the date of arrival, the first night or 50% of the total price whichever is the greater. b) Less than 24 hours notice prior to the date of arrival - 75% of total price c) Failure to arrive without notice - 100% of total price d) No refund is provided should the client wish to depart the property earlier than the number of nights prepaid for the property. Neither PENNESHAW RETREATS nor the owners of the property, John or Anne Hamlyn, will be liable for any damages, injury or loss or delay howsoever caused whilst at the accommodation or any related activity. All rental prices quoted at the time of booking are subject to change without prior notice. No responsibility is accepted for any misrepresentation, unforeseen omissions or additional costs incurred in relation to information provided in leaflets, on our web site or on brochures The liability in relation to loss or damage of luggage, compensation for distress, disappointment or loss of enjoyment is limited in total to the price of the accommodation booked If for any reason whatsoever the owners find it necessary to cancel the booking and be unable to provide the accommodation, a full refund will be made to the hirer. No further compensation or payment, other than a full refund, will be made in this instance.

Our rates are based on two share, with addiitonal adult or child at $15.00 per night (off season) and $20 per night (season). We have facilities for a maximum of 6 persns. Sorry, we don't allow more than 6 at any one time. SEASON - all South Australian School Holidays, long weekends and Easter. OFF SEASON - all other times

Seafarers is a self contained house, with all equipment such as washing machine, dryer, kitchen equipment - including dishwasher, microwave, oven & hot plates, large fridge. There is a telephone for INCOMING and Local OUTGOING calls only. Guests are reminded to bring all their own food and beverage requirements as well as bathroom toiletries.

Local Attractions:
Penneshaw is the ideal venue for a relaxing holiday, with a golf course, tennis court and range of eateries, including the hotel, motel, cafes and takeaways. Nearby are the beaches of Chapman River and Antechamber Bay and the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, whilst American Beach and Island Beach (sometimes referred to a 'Millionaire's Row") are just 10 minutes drive from the town. Don't forget to take the "Little" Penguin tour one evening - or just stroll down to the foreshore after dark and see these delightful little birds yourself. Please don't use a flash camera or torch at any time. Wandering around the town, out the front of the house, on the lawns you will see the gentle Tammar Wallabies in the cool of evening. Take a day out to explore the South Coast and visit Seal Bay, Flinders Chase National Park and Kelly Hill Caves on the South Coast. The famous Vivonne Bay beach is also a not to miss place to visit - on the South Coast. Other day trips can take in the townships of American River and Kingscote, or further along the north coast can be found the stunning Emu Bay Beach, Snellings Beach and Western River.
Getting There:
Once you have confirmed and paid for your holiday at Seafarers, you will be sent an information sheet and map showing you how to arrive. You will need your own car if coming on the ferry, or if flying into Kingscote, a hire car will be necessary as there is no public transport to connect with flights.
