A spectacular drive through the rainforest; walks; lovely beaches; Daintree Discovery Centre and artist's studios Daintree to Mossman - pristine beaches, horseriding along the beach, golf-course, wildlife sanctuary, artist's glass-blowing studio, tropical orchid gardens, Diane Cilento's open-air Karnak Playhouse Mossman - 30 minutes to a spectacular river with swimming holes, self-guided walks or interpretive walks with an Aboriginal guide through Daintree National Park and sugar mill tours during the June-to-November cane-crushing season Port Douglas - 45 minutes to this famous resort town with it's many shops and restaurants; day cruises to the Great Barrier Reef and wildlife sanctuary. Atherton Tablelands - one-and-a-half hours (lakes and waterfalls, farming country; wetlands reserve; coffee plantations)

Getting There:

From Cairns drive north through Mossman to Daintree Village (do not turn right to the Daintree River ferry). Then follow the blue signs for 8km along winding, picturesque Stewart Creek Road - properly formed graded road, well-maintained, accessable by normal sedan. The scenic drive from Cairns takes about 2 hours
