The rolling green hills and magnificent backdrop of the Glasshouse Mountains and Sunshine Coast are a magnet to painters, potters, sculptors, musicians and writers. Watch them at work and take home one of their creations to treasure forever. Time your visit right and you'll strike one of Maleny's special annual events such as the Festival of Colour or Chainsaw to Fine Furniture. For bookworms there are festivals and workshops, film buffs should check out our acclaimed film society ? and the hills definitely are alive with the sound of music in the birthplace of the annual Woodford Folk Festival. Around here, every road is a scenic route. Driving or biking is a pleasure. However, it's worth exploring on foot, too. Venture into Kenilworth State Forest or to Kondalilla and Gardners Falls. At Mary Cairncross Park you'll find a living nature museum: one of the world's great panoramas and an enchanting stroll through 50 hectares of untouched rainforest. Getting There:
From Maleny - Travel straight up the main street at Maleny, Maple St., and at the top of the town there?s a police station on the left. From this point to the Hideaway is exactly 4.6 kms. if you want to set your trip meter. Continue along the Maleny-Kenilworth Rd. (taking the right fork when you see the Reesville sign) until you see our sign on the left. (Note ? Ignore street numbers in this road as they are not consecutive!) Turn down the side road here (signposted as Sidney Lane) and follow the sealed road until you see our "Welcome" sign. Just leave your car where you see the reception sign and check in.
