Built in 2007, Alpine Habitats is the only certified eco accommodation in the NSW Snowy Mountains. Eighteen self contained properties are angled for privacy on 40 acres amongst the Snow Gum Woodlands in the Thredbo Valley. Operating on filtered rain water and worm farms, with flushing toilets! Each property has complete cooking facilities including a dishwasher, in-slab heating and an Ecosmart fire. Other features include; DVD player, in-house movies, internet access, drying cupboard, Weber BBQ and 2 car spaces. Included are 2 purpose built Accessible properties with boat parking available. Providing 4? star luxury accommodations, guests are able to enjoy a relaxed, spacious environment away from the hustle and bustle of every day living whilst minimising their carbon footprint. At 1070m altitude, the resort can be blanketed in snow in winter or remain cool in the summer season. Summer Booking Conditions $50 deposit is required to secure a reservation, with the final payment due 14 days prior to the arrival date. Cancellations incur a $50 fee written notification is required 48 hours prior to the arrival date or all monies paid will be forfeited. Winter Booking Conditions 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation, with the final payment due 30 days prior to the arrival date. Qantas and Virgin Blue fly to Canberra Airport which is approximately 2? hour drive to Alpine Habitats. Shuttle buses or hire cars are available year round from the airport. Transborder Express & Summit Coaches offer a year-round bus service from Canberra. Greyhound & Murrays Coaches operate in winter only. Sydney Driving from Sydney approximately 5 hours: Freeway * Travel south to Canberra on Hume Highway * South of Goulburn Veer left onto Federal Highway (Canberra turn off) * Follow the signs to Cooma (Monaro Highway), travelling the outskirts of Canberra Canberra Driving from Canberra approximately 2 hours: Pass through Michelago, Bredbo, Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne * Travel 168 Km south to Jindabyne on Monaro Highway * Pass through Jindabyne (straight through both roundabouts) * Turn left onto the Alpine Way - "Thredbo" turn off * Travel approximately 9km to Wollondibby Road on Alpine Way * Turn Left onto Wollondibby Road (You will see the Wollondibby Road sign - 200m prior to turning left) * Alpine Habitats entrance is situated 130 metres to your left Melbourne Driving from Melbourne approximately 7 hours: Highways - Pass through Wodonga, Corryong, Khancoban and Thredbo *Chains required in winter * Travel north to Wodonga on Hume Highway * Take the exit to the Murray Valley Highway - Marked "Wodonga/Tallangatta", * Pass through Wodonga and follow the signs "To Tallangatta" * Pass through Corryong * Turn right onto Alpine Way -"Khancoban" turn off * Pass through Khancoban and follow the Alpine Way to Thredbo * Pass through Thredbo * Travel approximately 22 km to Wollondibby Road * Turn right onto Wollondibby Road (just past the Schnapps Distillery) * Alpine Habitats entrance is situated 130 metres to your left
