Local Attractions:
The Temora Aviation Museum is one of the best in Australia with the only operational Hudson Bknmber in the World, the only operational Gloster Meteor of its type, the only operational Boomerang and Austtralia's only operational Spitfires (two of them) along with many others, all restored to their former glory and all ready to fly on our special Flying Weekends throughout the Year. The Temora Rural Museum is also a treasure with Don Bradman's first home, a pioneer cottage, a bush schoolhouse, the bar of an old pub, a pioneer cottage, the workings of the old flour mill in Temora, tractors (all operational), Australia's only FJ Holden ambulance and much, much more. Ariah Park, a village just 35k west of Tem5ora has a main street frozen in the 1920's era, including petrol bowsers down the main street, a grandly restored old pub and a great little coffee shop. Just 50k south of us is Australia's most hanted (and beautifully restored) Edwardian mansion, the liquorice and chocolate factory and a railway roundhouse museum. Then at Coolamon (50 k south-west) there's the Up-to-daty store, still in the same condition as it was 120 years ago and beautifully preserved along with wehat is believed to be the oldest operationing money-changing machine ikn the world. That's just the start - we have much mroe we would like to introduce you to while tyou stay in Temora - just ask us!
Getting There:
We're at the crossroads of the Burley Grffin Way (linking Canberra and Griffith/Adelaide) and the Goldfields Way (linking Brisane and Melbourne). By car, turn off the Hume Highway towards Wagga (travelling from Melbourne), or 13 k south of Yass (travelling from Canberra or Sydney). By train: Travel to Cootamundra and join the rail bus service to Temora. By plane, Catch the flight to Wagga Wagga and hire a car or take a taxi from Wagga Wagga to Temora (about 95k)
