Baydreamer Hideaway is a unique eco-friendly property that accommodates a maximum of 6 guests with private resort amenities, although we also operate as a Bed & Breakfast. The property incorporates the owners residence with reception area and separate guest accommodation building called the Hideaway, with adjoining pool, BBQ area and outdoor entertainment area. The Hideaway contains two guest rooms each with ensuite bathroom, queen size beds and private TV. The pool area overlooks a classic Australian vista and will offer a sunrise you will not forget. The Rainforest Room is perfect for a romantic getaway. It opens onto the pool deck and overlooks the Mambo Reserve. The Boatshed Room also overlooks the Reserve and can be configured for up to 4 people (queen bed and set of bunks) if required. The Hideaway guest accommodation building includes a shared lounge area with log fire, dining area and kitchenette for your convenience.

Location:
The Baydreamer is centrally located in Salamander Bay, on Salamander Way, not far from the shopping center. The property adjoins the Mambo Reserve, a natural eco-sensitive wetland, home to all sorts of wildlife including koala. We are from 5 to 10 minutes drive from any of the 26 beaches of Port Stephens (Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay, Soldiers Point) or the ocean (Fingal Bay, Samurai Beach, One Mile Beach, Stockton Beach).

The Baydreamer Hideaway is convenient to all attractions in the Port Stephens area; dolphin or whale watching cruises or fishing in the Bay, golf at several courses including Horizons Resort, bush walking in the Tomaree National Park or Tilligerry Koala Habitat, 4WDing or sand boarding in the dunes of Stockton Bight, dining or shopping in Nelson Bay, or just lazing by the pool. We are happy to help you arrange or book any activities in the Port Stephens area. Attractions like Horizons Golf Course, Toboggan Hill Park, Lucky Strike Bowling, Salamander Shopping Centre and the Salamander Tavern are all within walking distance.
Getting There:
The Baydreamer is a pleasant 2 1/2 hour drive from Sydney CBD on the F3, and less than 45 minutes from Newcastle. Follow signs north to the end of the F3 at Hexham where it becomes the Pacific Highway and turns north across the Hexham Bridge. Once across the bridge, take the first turn on your right (called Tomago Road or Hwy #122). Follow signs for Nelson Bay/Port Stephens (Hwy #122 becomes Nelson Bay Road) for about 30 minutes. (If you miss the turn at Tomago Road ... no worries, keep going on the Pacific Highway and take the Nelson Bay/Raymond Terrace exit (about 4 kms on) and follow signs for Nelson Bay). Exit left off Nelson Bay Road at the roundabout to Salamander Bay & Salamander Shopping Centre. Continue through the next roundabout on Salamander Way and past the shopping centre on your right. About 1 kilometre on, the Baydreamer Hideaway is the first property on your right, #135 Salamander Way.
