For those who are planning a special occasion and want to escape to an absolute waterfront (the water's edge is 15 meters from the verandah), self-contained, peaceful, romantic hideaway; Tranquil Shores is situated in Toronto Township, located on the shores of Lake Macquarie, one of Australia's largest coastal saltwater lakes, 70 minute drive from Wahroonga (Sydney) via the F3. The air conditioned cottage is comfortable year round, facing east, cool and breezy in the summer and cozy in the cooler months. Tastfully furnished in a nautical theme, lined inside with natural timber. Leave the car under cover at the door and stroll to our close neighbour the Royal Motor Yacht Club and enyoy a meal at the award winning restaurant overlooking the marina or discover the many restaurants, shops, supermarkets and federation cottages in the township. Relax on the bay window seat or the waterfront verandah, sip on a glass of wine and soak in the magnificent views or leave the security door locked and hear the gently lapping waves from your comfortable queen bed. Tranquil Shores has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday; queen bed and linen, single trundle bed, kitchen, outdoor gas bbq, cd/stereo system, dvd, hair drier, reverse cycle air conditioning, ironing facilities and laundry. The property is centrally located in a quiet road, easy walk to the township, shopping and restaurants,within 30 minutes drive of ocean beaches, Hunter Valley wine country and Hunter Valley Gardens, Watagan Mountains and historic towns like Morpeth and Maitland. If you are celebrating a special occasion, anniversary or wedding, the services of a beautician and hairdresser are available on site for your convenience. For those who prefer not to travel by car, we provide a complimentary pick up service from the nearby Fassifern railway station on the Sydney line. Ask about our complimentary boat cruise. Children are welcome. Disabled people have been guests of ours, please enquire as to the accessability into and inside the cottage.

The cottage will accommodate a family, two adults and 1-2 children, a separate folding mattress is available and a folding cot.

Park your car under cover at your door, it is well away and out of sight of the road and protected by security lighting.
Things to do:
When you are not messing about around the waterfront, fishing from the lawn or simply enjoying the setting, catch a movie at the local cinema, head for the ocean beaches within a half hour drive, tour the Watagan mountains or visit the Hunter Valley wine country. Ask about our offer of a complimentary boat cruise.
Local Attractions:
Stroll over to our close neighbour the Royal Motor Yacht Club which overlooks the marina (the club is only seven minutes walk along the waterfront) and enjoy a meal at the award-winning restaurant or discover the many restaurants, cafes, shops, supermarkets, historic railway station and federation cottages in the township.
Getting There:
Finding us is easy.... From Sydney on the F3, take the Toronto exit 4 km north of Kurri/Cessnock exit, (about one hour from Wahroonga). At off ramp "T" turn right: straight ahead 8 km; at second set of lights (Main rd 133 intersection) turn left towards Newcastle. Then take third right at McDonalds into Bay St, left into Renwick Street, right into Moore Street, down to no 6 on the right.
