You can also walk to many local restaurants so you do not have to bring your car. We also pick our guests up from Katoomba station and being them back to Melba House. this is a complimentary service, There are the attractions of Scenic World, Jenolan Caves, Toy and Train Museum, Megalong Heritage Centre, Norman Lindsay Gallery and many more attractions.

The Deluxe Wentworth Suite

Room Information:
The Deluxe Wentworth Suite has a spa bathroom including a shower. This suite has a king bed and a sofa bed. The king bed can be unzipped to make 2 single beds if required. This suite also has a beautiful old wood-burning fireplace, its own private lounge and dining area, a fridge, CD and DVD player, television and tea and coffee-making facilities. Also included are a complimentary bowl of fruit, home-made biscuits and a decanter of port for you to enjoy whilst staying with us. Maximum occupancy is 3 adults but room tariff is only for 1-2 adults. Extra person is an extra $60 per night. I am sorry we do not take children as we are a parent's retreat.

Cancellations:
Our cancellation policy If you cancel more than 72 hours before check-in then the whole amount you have paid is refunded to your credit card account. If you cancel within 72 hours of your stay then the 50% of the total amount is taken. If you cancel 48hrs or under of your intended stay then 100% is taken. If we can resell the room (which we always attempt to do) then we forward to you the 50% or the 100% minus any shortfall in the room price received.
The administration fee on refunds is AU$30.00

Children & Extra Guest Policy:
We do not take children as we are a child-free zone. Many of our guests have left their children with adoring grandparents so they want to enjoy a peaceful time at Melba House without the usual noise of children.
Reception Information:
We have a large selection of magazines, books and games for your to borrow. We can arrange local tours for you, many of them pick our guests up from Melba House
Business Facilities:
Wireless-free internet service in all areas of Melba House, including verandah. If anybody would like to use our fax machine or telephone they may do so. Usual call charges apply.
Car Parking:
Melba House has off-street parking that is under cover and also on-street parking.
Things to do:
Watching TV, DVDs or CDs, sit on the verandah sipping a delicious port. Sit in front of your own fire (spa suites only) reading a good book or magazine. Have a relaxing spa (spa suites only) Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea on day of arrival. Have an in-house massage in your own suite. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast served in your own suite.

There are the attractions of Scenic World, Jenolan Caves, Toy and Train Museum, Megalong Heritage Centre, Norman Lindsay Gallery and many more attractions. A short stroll will also take you past antique shops, cafes, art galleries, craft shops and some of New South Wales most celebrated restaurants.
Getting There:
If you are coming by car The address for Melba House is 98 Waratah Street, on the corner of Duff Street. The easiest way to find us is when you come into Katoomba on the Great Western Highway, the 1st set of lights is the hospital. Turn left at the 3rd set of lights which is sign-posted Katoomba Shopping Centre. As you cross the railway line you come to a roundabout, turn left, again it is signposted shopping centre. Take the 1st right down Katoomba Street which is our shopping centre and where many of the good restaurants are situated. At the 1st crossroads, turn left, this is Waratah Street. At the next cross roads (Lurline Street) the road wants to take you round to the right but keep straight on Waratah Street. You then take the next left - Duff Street, and Melba House is on this corner.
